Last Friday after Prof. Shibata's lecture he was invited to visit our laboratory and discuss about the challenges and possibilities of social robotics. He looked over our robots and held several meetings with Robotics Lab members.

Last Friday, Jan 29th, Prof. Takanori Shibata, Senior Research Scientist at the National Institute of Advanced Industrial Science and Technology (AIST, Japan), and creator of the social robot PARO gave a lecture in our university. He explained the development of PARO and its practical applications, and the cultural impact of robotics in Japan.
