Hi, my name is Jose Medina. I am PhD candidate at the Robotics Lab in the Department of System Engineering and Automation of the University Carlos III of Madrid. I was born in Venezuela and received my B.Sc. degree in Electronics Engineering from Universidad Simon Bolivar. In February of 2008 I completed a Master in Electrical Engineering from Universidad Central de Venezuela. Next, I graduated with my second master’s degree in Robotics and Automation, from University Carlos III of Madrid in 2011. My research is focused on safe physical human-robot interaction. It includes the development of hardware and control systems, for the best performance of variable stiffness actuators, elastic joint clutches and soft end effectors.
