Robots have begun to assist people with some type of cognitive impairment, showing improvements in their quality of life. The goal of RobAlz project is the development of a robot to assist elders suffering Alzheimer’s disease (AD), or other causes of cognitive impairment, and also their caregivers. The robot Mini has been designed and constructed within the frame of this project. This paper presents the main characteristics of the robot: its design, components and control architecture.
