Prof Balaguer presents the future Humanoids

Carlos-Balaguer

Prof. Carlos Balaguer presents the future the Humanoid robot at the recently held in Madrid 1st international Global Robot Expo (http://www.globalrobotexpo.com). He presents the recent advances in Humanoid Robots, the highest exponent of modern robotics. Currently they are full-size and can perform various complex tasks such as walking, sitting, manipulation objects and tools, driving machines, interact with humans, etc. However, the results of the last two editions of the DARPA Robotics Challenge, despite being a success, confirm that it is a technology that needs to mature and become more robust.

Therefore, current Humanoid Robots, which claim to be a “copy” of the body and human behavior must evolve beyond reality and science fiction. Satisfactorily human replication with the current level of technology is not feasible. Unlike human evolution, attending to the mechanisms of natural selection, robotic developers are able to create Humanoids with new capacities of mechatronics, sensorial feedback and interaction capabilities that will improve the current “species” creating the concept of trans-humanoids.
