Intelligent underground robots for the ecologic and digital transition of the urban subsoil

The ROBOSUB project chases the evolution of microtunneling technologies. Starting from the results of EU Project BADGER, the ROBOSUB project will improve the microtunnelling robot system, the control algorithms, and the software application for its operation.

The ROBOSUB project envisions an ambitious breakthrough to develop new technologies and algorithms to face the challenges proposed for the ecological transition and the digital transition. The means to tackle these challenges is to develop an improved, fully steerable, intelligent microtunnelling robot as an evolution of the robot BADGER: the novel ROBOSUB microtunnelling robot. The good results from the project BADGER, merged with the ongoing advances, will support the ROBOSUB in succeeding in developing the proposed objectives. The main result of the project ROBOSUB will be a novel enhanced microtunnelling robot integrating improved path planning algorithms and navigation capabilities.
