Juan was born in Madrid, Spain. He is Electrical Engineer with a master in Robotics and Automation by the University Carlos III in 2011. His master thesis was to develop an application for the iPhone to interact remotely with the robot Maggie. The application controlled the voice, movement of the limbs and an infrared remote control installed in the base of the robot.

Currently he is a PhD student in HelmHoltz Zentrum Munich in the Institute of Biological and Medical Imaging (IBMI). His project dissertation is called “Cell Tracking with Multispectral Optoacoustics” in the PhD program Medical Life Science and Technology by the Technical University of Munich.
