My name is Luis Pedraza. I'm and Industrial Engineer, Ms. in Automatic Control (Universidad Politécnica de Madrid, UPM). In march 2009 I received a PhD in robotics from the same University. My PhD advisors were Diego Rodríguez-Losada y Fernando Matía.
I started my research activities at the Automatic Control Department in the Industrial Automation Institute of CSIC. In this institution, I was involved in several research projects related with legged robots and industrial automation.
Between november 2004 and september 2009 I was with the Intelligent Control Group of the UPM. With my PhD Thesis, "SLAM Geométrico con Modelado Basado en Curvas Spline" (Geometric SLAM With Spline Curves-Based Modeling), I aimed to solve the problem that arises when trying to model complex indoor environments with simple features such as points or segments.
Since september 2009 I'm with the Robotics Lab (UC3M), involved in both research and teaching activities.

Mi nombre es Luis Pedraza. Soy Ingeniero Industrial por la Universidad Politécnica de Madrid, especialidad automática. En marzo de 2009 terminé mi doctorado en robótica bajo la dirección de Diego Rodríguez-Losada y Fernando Matía.
En 2002 comencé mis trabajos de investigación en el Departamento de Control Automático del Instituto de Automática Industrial del CSIC. Allí colaboré en diferentes proyectos de investigación relacionados con robots caminantes y automatización industrial.
Entre noviembre de 2004 y septiembre de 2009 desarrollé mi actividad investigadora en el Grupo de Control Inteligente de la UPM. Allí finalicé mi tesis doctoral, titulada "SLAM Geométrico con Modelado Basado en Curvas Spline". Con ella pretendía resolver el problema que supone el modelado geométrico de entornos de interior complejos, en los que el uso de primitivas sencillas como puntos o segmentos resulta insuficiente.
Desde septiembre de 2009 desarrollo actividades de docencia e investigación en el Robotics Lab de la Universidad Carlos III de Madrid.
