Edwin Daniel Oña Simbaña was born in Quito-Ecuador, but is living in Madrid since 2002. He received his B.Sc. degree in Electronics Engineering (2011) and M.Sc. degree in Advanced Electronic Systems (2013) both at Carlos III University. He is a PhD candidate at the RoboticsLab since 2015. His research is focused on assistive and rehabilitation robots in hospital environment, which is the main aim of RoboHealth project.
He has collaborated in the development of the PRESSMATIC, an electromechanical device for assisting people who have lost the grip function in their fingers and they can not use little tools such as scissors, nail clipper or tongs.
His interests include assistive robots, mechatronics, power electronics and technicals aids for disabled people.
