Different technological devices such as mobile phones or smart speakers are quite useful for people to find information. However, these types of devices tend to ignore the older population by having complex or not very accessible user interfaces. Social robotics can enable access to online contents in a friendly way even for users that are unfamiliar with new technology. This paper describes the development of a series of applications for the social robot Mini that could bring some of these contents closer to elder people. The skills implemented in this work consist in the access to online news and weather in a multimodal way. This work also includes a functionality for telling jokes and sayings, thus trying to achieve an extra degree of attachment to the robot.
